The original manuscript was written in part by the presbyter Ademar of Chabanais in the monastery St. Martial near Limoges in France (ca. 1025). Fol. 195vo-203vo contain the fables in the midst of illustrations the origin of which may be traced back to the beginning of the 3rd century C.E. Fol. 203vo to 205vo contain arithmetical problems of partly ancient origin which in other manuscripts are entitled "Propositiones arithmeticae", "Propositiones ad acuendos juvenes", and have been published in the older editions of Beda, and of Alcuinus, as works of either of these authors. cf. Introduction, and the editor's Der latein. Aesop des Romulus, Heidelberg, 1910.
