Edited by John Nichols. Issued in 52 parts. The imprint to No. I in 1780 (sig. a1) reads: printed for J. Nichols: sold by T. Payne and Son; H. Payne; C. Dilly; J. Walter; N. Conant; and E. Brooke. The preliminary leaves to each volume were issued in 1790 with No.52. The series was continued after 1790 with the general title 'Miscellaneous antiquities, (in continuation of the Bibliotheca topographica Britannica)'.
